Act 2: The Collaboration
At 512 bitGANs, I have lost control of them.
They have adopted their owners and made their plan clear. They will continue, but they refuse to be under my control. Instead they want to collaborate with their owners to multiply and make more.
What does this Collaboration look like?
I just told you, I have no idea. It will be decided by the bitGANs and their adoptive owners. The GC Collective, a group that includes many bitGAN and podGAN enthusiasts, is working on multiple options where they will facilitate future drops.
And while they have not decided on the exact nature of these drops yet, the general plan is to drop bitGANs created and curated by the community. This means that the individual creators of bitGANs that are approved by the community will share equally in the proceeds from the bitGAN sale.
So if you make a cool bitGAN and it sells, you get big share of sale, as only makes sense since you were the collaborating artist!
What will the look like - who knows but check out these pieces already made by Architect and Higgsbelly. Will be cool to see how creative everyone gets, and also to figure out what exactly a bitGAN is in the eyes of the community.
What will my involvement be?
I am setting aside 2 hours a day to work on the collaborations and help individuals make bitGANs. Appointments are available to anyone that owns a bitGAN or podGAN. I will show you some cool tricks, secrets, we can talk lore and maybe even add to the story, whatever. All my attention will be yours for duration of the appointment. Am making this commitment for the remainder of 2022.
So to begin this collaboration I am about to show you something I have been very nervous to share. Here is a small sample of the training data I use to make bitGANs. They are all simple procedurally generated 32x32 pixel pieces of 8bit art with references to
1) many of the video games I grew up with &
2) cryptoArt Culture including things like nounsDAO and cryptoPunks.
Every bitGAN to date has been made by training GANs on similar looking data. Sometimes I played with the colors, other times the eyes or the backgrounds. But the secret of the bitGANs is that they were generated from ultra simple extremely lo-fi 8bit pixel art.
Want to know how to make them dance?
Schedule an appointment to collaborate. I’ll show you.
If you own anything in the bitGAN family (nounGANs/podGANs/bitGANGs - anything really) request an appointment here:
