Hidden Types
Finally have control of my wallet, studio, and self back. My robots are no longer painting and the place is back to the messy unorganized artist space that I am used to.
Can’t help but feel a little shaken though. The Pandimensional skullGAN (0/128) cracked my seed phrase with ease and used it to mint itself along with the other 128 skullGANs. As minion circus observed, time appears to be irrelevant to the “panGAN”, so it’s brute force crypto attacks are instantaneous. Can’t help but wonder if it has achieved quantum supremacy.
Luckily though the bitGANg came through and captured each of the bitGANs on the blockchain before the could reek too much havoc. Everything looks secure for now. Big thanks to everyone that chipped in to get things back under control and especially to Anonymoux2311 for capturing the panGAN with a bid of 21.34 ETH, and gobbles/shartoshi69 for capturing the Moirai at 7.7 ETH.
While it has only been a couple of days since the drop, the bitGANg has solved a number of mysteries including finding the Hidden Journal and deciphering the admittedly nebulous hierarchical structure of the skullGANs.
thatbloom was the first to recognize the sequence hidden in their behavior even before they fully materialized. He saw it in the glitch of the panGAN that appeared in the bitGALLERY before it reached it’s final form. Look at it closely and you will notice that “The main bitGAN in the middle consists of 41 frames. Every frame that's part of the fibonacci sequence is colored and every frame that's not part of the fibonacci sequence is inverted.”
thatbloom called it a “fibonacci-glitch” and didn’t stop there. He also noticed that the final panGAN (0/128) is a 21 frame loop. 0 & 21 - more fibonacci numbers. They’re everywhere.
Then a number of you recognized that there was a glitch even earlier when the bitGANs first appeared as a group. But TJC345 was first to note that if you watch the animation below carefully you will notice the fibonacci-glitch on grid positions 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and 55.
And this is when the puzzle solving got really intense. The bitGANs had taken over my wallet and the bitGALLERY when just about everyone chipped in to find the Hidden Journal.
Taking my cue to “look deeply into the spirals” many of the bitGANg discovered a slightly off color tile at the center of the spiral where I stashed the Hidden Journal. As far as I could tell minion circus was the first to crack the password which was the order of the NFTs in the gallery [01123581321345589]. Great pic of their orientation Partyvan.
But many others also figured out puzzle independently and in groups including dΞCision, ard, anirveda, stinkdaddy, ttttim, thatbloom, t_flex, Lamorak, njc, drizzy - (Reach out if I left your name off this list - will add it.)
So all this led to the Hidden Journal which had a number of questions including:
The skullGANs have Hidden Traits. What are they hiding?
Didn’t take long for the riddle channel and some other independent submissions to notice that there was a hierarchy to the hidden traits.
First explained by Griff and seconded by many in the Riddle Channel + jimmer TJC345:
- Fibonacci bitGANS are all classified with Hidden Type A
- Remaining Prime bitGANS are classified with Hidden Type B
- Squares bitGANS (4, 9, 16, etc..) are classified with Hidden Type C
- Remaining Odd BitGANS are classified with Hidden Type D
- Remaining Even bitGANS are classified with Hidden Type E
but people also noticed that
- (32/128) is Type 32 (typo or important?)
- (119/128) is only Odd number of Type E (typo or important?)
Hint: These are not “Hidden Typos”, but part of the puzzle that will only be solvable after some more drops. Hold on to this info for later.
With the nounGANs, primes were the most important number set. With the skullGANs, it is the Hidden Type A that holds the most importance - The Fibonacci bitGANs.
So HODL the Fibonacci bitGANs (0/128), (1/128), (2/128), (3/128), (5/128), (8/128), (13/128), (21/128), (34/128), (55/128), & (89/128) cause they will unlock special things in upcoming drops.
And congratulations to all for uncovering the central mystery of the skullGANs.
More mysteries remain to be solved, such as answering the other questions in the Hidden Journal, but we can get to that in the coming weeks.
On personal note this whole drop was single most successful art experience I have ever had. I am so humbled by everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement. We are going to have to do something to commemorate it, so look for more news on that in coming days. Thanks again for everything. Hope this series will live up to everyone’s expectations and that we continue to have fun with it.
