The nounGANs

While I am trying to figure out what is going on in my studio, another weird thing happened.

18 of the images appeared in my cryptovoxels museum.

Underneath each was a name and edition number. They were all called Noun GAN Study, and each had a different edition number of 63.

Earlier 64 had introduced themselves to me, so I could only guess this was the same set and sure enough I recognized them. But why these 18?

Another odd thing is that in the center of the room they took over was a single solid blank white monolith with the words…

“AI Imagined nounGAN”

What are nounGANs?

Are these things nounGANs?

I reached out to friends on twitter and discord for help. Asked if anyone could figure out why they appeared and what they were doing in my gallery.

Four people were able to see the pattern I couldn’t, and pointed out the peculiarity that each of these 18 “nounGANs” were prime numbers.

How could I not have noticed that?

Big thanks to floopmoose, dylor, scott.jpeg, and Ference Caseby! I owe you one for the help, will definitely hook you up with airdrop on my next drop.

So discovered 2 things today.

The first is that these things apparently call themselves nounGANs.

The second is that there is something significant about PRIME nounGANs.

But what is up with the white monolith in the center of my gallery?
