003 - Fibonacci skullGANs
We have learned so much about the Fibonacci skullGANs, and the Fibonacci Sequence in general. It is everywhere and sits right at the intersection of art and science.
A spiral made from squaring the numbers is everywhere -
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89…
- even in shape of our skulls and possibly even the structure of our minds.
What do the skullGANs have to do with this?
Our journey of discovery began with skullGANg member Lamorak making a compendium of their traits - which you can find in the riddle solvers discord. From there we were able to put patterns together.
We found that beyond Fibonacci Numbers there were other derivatives like Padovian Cuboid Spirals, and Tribonacci Numbers, all similar to the Fibonacci Numbers, but different in how you add the numbers together to create the sequence.
Simply put, Fibonacci Numbers are a sequence where each number is the sum of the two numbers before it beginning with 0 & 1.
0, 1, (0+1) or 1,
0, 1, 1, (1+1) or 2,
0, 1, 1, 2, (1+2) or 3,
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, (2+3) or 5,
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, (3+5) or 8,
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, (5+8) or 13… etc
and the alternate sequences are plays off of this, all related to natural phenomenom.
So if the skullGAN’s number is a Fibonacci, it has a unique name.
0: Pandimensional skullGAN
1: The Moirai
2: The Artist
3: The Geometer
5: Primordial whaleGAN
8: Flaming blobGAN
13: Flaming spiritGAN
21: Beanie skullGAN
34: Heart skullGAN
55: Silver Warrior skullGAN
89: Primordial sharkGAN
Only one one other bitGAN has a unique name but is not on Fibonacci sequence - #39 the cyclopsGAN. Not sure where that fits in.
Anyways, just like in nature, Fibonacci spirals and the golden mean (or PHI) are everywhere with these bitGANs.
Looking forward to see how deep this pattern goes, and whether it is the primary pattern, or just one of many governing their existence.
