32 for 22 for 2022

Before NFTs, there were other blockchain art projects and I took part in a couple of them. One of the earlier things I did was “mint” 128 AI Imagined Faces on BTC with Verisart. Interestingly these were from the same series as the 5 that have been minted on SuperRare and recently sold for 50 and 80 ETH, but they were not on Ethereum. And I thought these were lost as I couldn’t find them. But recently Verisart showed me I was looking in the wrong place and have recently revealed them to me. I am so excited to share some of them with you.

Imagine losing a treasure then finding them, and finding that they were preserved on the blockchain. That is really the power of NFTs and the Blockchain for us artists. It is a new kind of immutable provenance.

But this post is not about the 128 recovered AI Imagined Faces. Just excited that Verisart found them and I can share them with you. This post is about a Verisart auction that I am in called 22 for 2022. It was my discussion with them about recovering these works that got me interested in this auction which is an interesting mix of traditional artists minting their first works, and established artists like myself, minting a current piece. In their words.

”The participating artists reflect a variety of mediums including AI, NFTs, painting, installation, photography, robotics, sculpture, video and more - all developing their own striking visual style. Artists include Shepard Fairey, Jennifer Rubell, Vhils, Mario Klingemann, Daniel Brown, Penny Slinger, Manuel Rossner, Mark Wallinger, Estate of Lee Mullican, Troika, Mat Collishaw, Neil Beloufa, Pindar Van Arman, SMACK, Philip Colbert, Sougwen Chung, Jonathan Yeo, Recycle Group, Vince Fraser, Mike Egan, Leo Isikdogan and Linda Dounia.”

Honored to have the following HD bitGANg included in their inaugural auction with all these other amazing artists.

Ghosts in the Machine, bitGANg 1001

In true bitGAN fashion, this bitGANg is not only an animated GIF of 32 unique bitGANs on the blockchain, but will also come with a physical component. Winner of this auction will be sent a MORF Artstick that contains the HD animation that makes it easy to plug in and play on any popular smart television. Just plug the Artsticks HD cable into your television, and this bitGANg will be ready to view.

Auction starts January 25 at 1pm EST / 6pm GMT, for your chance to get 32 unique gitGANs. Reserve for all the artists is only 1 ETH.

The auction for these Ghosts in the Machine runs until February 8.

Also for those of you that were hoping for news of the next bitGAN drop. This is a sneak peak at the style. With the help of the podGANs, bitGANs continue their evolution with an increased mastery of color spectrum.

Thanks and good luck.
